// Your Visit to Vijay Eye Care Hospital

Welcome to Our Hospital – Your Comfort is Our Priority

At Vijay Eye Care Hospital, we are dedicated to providing you with the highest standards of ophthalmic care in a comfortable and supportive environment. This guide offers essential information to help you prepare for your visit, understand our processes, and ensure a smooth experience from registration to follow-up.

Before Your Appointment

Careful preparation ensures we can provide the most accurate diagnosis and efficient care.

  • Bring All Records: Please carry all your previous eye reports, prescriptions, test results, and discharge summaries. If you have been treated elsewhere, these records are crucial for continuity of care.

  • Medical History: Bring a list of all current medications you are taking (for eyes and general health, including supplements), along with details of any known allergies.

  • Referral Letter: If you were referred by another doctor, bring the referral letter.

  • Identification & Insurance: Carry your ID proof (e.g., Aadhar card, Passport) and your health insurance card/documents if you plan to utilize cashless or reimbursement facilities.

  • Duration: Be prepared for your appointment to take several hours. Comprehensive eye examinations often involve dilation, which requires time for the drops to take effect.

What to Expect During Your Visit

Your typical visit involves several key steps to ensure a thorough evaluation:

1. Registration & Preliminary Check

  • You will first complete necessary registration formalities.

  • A technician will perform initial tests, including visual acuity measurement (checking your sight), and often an auto-refraction and pressure check (IOP).

2. Specialist Consultation

  • Your specialist (Ophthalmologist) will review your records, discuss your medical history, and perform a detailed clinical examination.

3. Dilating Your Pupils

  • For a complete view of the retina and optic nerve, the doctor may administer dilating drops. These drops temporarily enlarge your pupils.

  • Note: Your vision will be blurred, and you will be sensitive to light for several hours. You must arrange for someone to drive you home, or plan to use public transport/taxi, as you cannot drive after dilation.

4. Further Testing

  • Based on your condition, the doctor may order advanced diagnostic tests (e.g., OCT, Visual Field, Angiography).

5. Final Consultation & Plan

  • The doctor will explain the diagnosis, discuss treatment options, and create a personalized plan (medication, laser, or surgery).

  • Your prescriptions and instructions will be finalized.

Post-Visit & Follow-up Care

  • Follow Instructions: Strictly adhere to the medications and lifestyle advice given by your doctor.

  • Scheduled Appointments: Do not miss any scheduled follow-up or review appointments. These are essential for monitoring your progress and detecting potential issues early.

  • Surgery Pre-Counselling: If surgery is planned, our dedicated counsellors will provide detailed pre-operative instructions, consent forms, and financial estimates.

  • Feedback: We welcome your feedback! Your experience helps us continually improve our services.
